Bringing Stage and Screen Magic to Life
One of the joys of being a professional magician is the variety of creative projects I get to work on — especially when it involves collaborating with actors, directors, and producers across stage and screen. As a magic consultant for theatre and television, I’m often brought in to teach performers how to convincingly execute sleight-of-hand or scripted illusions, even if they’ve never handled a deck of cards before.
These magic moments aren’t just visual flourishes — they’re often key plot points that need to feel seamless and real. That’s where I come in. I work closely with actors, helping them learn and rehearse the magical effect so that by the time cameras roll or curtains rise, it looks effortless.
Whether it's for a period drama, a live stage play, or a contemporary series, my role is to make the impossible feel not only possible... but natural.
Recently, i was asked to collaborate on a production called The Children of Wolves. The process was fascinating for several reasons. The script was amazing, the director had a wonderful and clear vision and the main actor that i worked with already had some skill in performing magic and was a really fast learner, too!

Today, I had the pleasure of hosting the 42nd annual School’s Arts Competition—a celebration of creativity and youthful imagination. The sheer talent on display was nothing short of inspiring. It was a joy and an honour to be part of it.

The session breaks down the real secrets behind great magic tricks and examines what actually makes them work. Caolan took the team through effective and practical communication techniques that work in the real world of business.

Magic show in Belfast at The Strand Wrap Party
Belfast Magician Caolan McBride performed his magic tricks at a very special wrap party at The Strand Cinema and Arts Centre in Belfast. A unique Magic show in Belfast. Magician belfast. Magic tricks.
I was honoured to be asked to perform at the very final night at The Strand Cinema in Belfast before they close for a big refurb. I love the staff at The Strand, i love that it’s an independant cinema and i have been lucky enough to perform several of my magic shows there including my Sherlock Holmes show.
It was such a special evening hosted by Stephen Beggs. With appearances from Dan Gordon, Manuka Honey and Donal Skullion, the audience were treated to The Strand through the ages. I found the music and video footage and stories quite emotional. By the time i was on stage the audience were relaxed and in a lovely mood to experience an excerpt from my Sherlock show.
At the interval i also created a special “Concession Tray of Magic Tricks”. The audience chose from a selection of magic on the specially built concession tray that i wore. It was such a lovely night of movie magic.

Thanks to my long time partners in crime and all round awesome group Seedhead Arts we are hosting an incredible night of magic and beer in Belfast.
